Heritage
West-Eastern Divan (published in 1819, expanded in 1827) is the most comprehensive collection of poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It was inspired by the works of the Persian poet Hafis. The work is considered the symbol of a stimulating exchange between Orient and Occident.

Diwan has as second meaning "office" in the Arabic language.
